The Perception of WarAt this point in time, everyday citizens weren’t used to seeing images of war and destruction plastered onto their tv screens like we are today. During WWI and even before, it was a widely held belief that war was glorious. This view changed after images and footage of war was televised for the first time. These horrific images were shown to everyday people and families on the news, which prompted protests and riots throughout Australia and America.
